I got a letter in the mail, demanding my attendance for jury duty. This has been a pretty crappy week.

to be on a jury... they won't tell him until he goes to the "tryouts" which determines whether or not that he is in the jury or not. if he gets in, then that means they will tell him what it is for.

my suggestions i John, if you don't want to do it, be really outspoken and take your opinion to extremes. if that occurs then they will say you are not moderate enoug and won't let you on the jury.

Jury Duty is a responsibility, not a chore, even if we're grumpy or upset that we have to do it.

It's not a responsibility. By birth the system owns us. We have enough obligations. Besides, they will just ask you later, and right now is not the best time for you to do he duty right?

Look Gray, I don't know where you're coming from. When I was born, my parents governed my welfare, not any local government. They don't own me, but I owe "the accused" and the "accusee"--a man's freedom is at stake, and/or a crime has been committed, and it all needs to be straightened out.
My parents raised me with a strong sense of duty, justice, and courage. So I'm going to do jury duty, because it's necessary for this type of government--a democracy, one that is ruled by the people.

I see, but either way, they might not let you on if you are too opinionated. They only select moderates, and they can kick you off the jury at any time. If you want to do it, do it, if not, don't criticize me suggesting.
