I bought FFVIII from eBay and it arrived 3 days ago, and yesterday when I went my friend's place FFIX was just sitting along with all his other PS games. So I told him I'm stealing it and he said go ahead. So, at last I own the 3 big PS FF games, 7,8 and 9! I'm alternating between VIII and IX, lol. I'm about 2 hours into Disc 2 for FFVIII and nearly at the end of Disc 1 for FFIX. Gosh, I'm having too much fun right now playing them, I don't have time to do anything else. of course, my parents aren't too happy, because I practically spend half the day playing them. (I'm in my holidays at the moment btw).

I have almost all of the FF games except for the Gameboy games under the FF name which arn't real FF games, and FF III and the FF XI expansion packs. Beat FF VII twice. Once on PC and once on PS1. I got near the end of Disc 1, but I couldn't get through the crowd at the parade. My mother and my brother played MY copy of FF IX before I ever got a chance to... my bro f***ed up my Disc 1, so I have to buy another copy of the game. >< FF Anthology owns FF VII-XII

Then why bother making a post about it in a thread that is about RPGs? It's kinda spammish you know.. a way to get your post count up...
Anyways.. FF8.. my favorite FF game. The characters were awesome, and I loved the Junctioning system. I know how to get your 3 party members of your choice, to have the HP, Str, Vit, Mag, Spr, and Spd stats Junctionable. XD I have to remake the system though.. I have it mostly down, I just need to get the rest of the GFs to finish it off.
FF9 is also another favorite.. when I rented it a long time ago, when it first came out, I got to the 3rd disc in under 4 days. I was just hooked on that game. I can't remember the part I got stuck at before I had to return it the next day (5 day rental limit here). XD But yeah.. then a few days later, I was able to convince my dad to buy it for me.
But now I have to refind FF9 because my dad sold everything of mine after he kicked me out.. oh well. I have FF7 and FF8 to keep me busy until I find it.

I do like the Junction system, but I'm still trying to get used to it. It's still a bit confusing for me.
I am absolutely loving FFIX because they brought back stuff from the earliest games in the series, the obvious being the entire world set as those medieval-ish fantasy worlds, and of course the black mages. And I like the magic stones + AP on weapons system a lot. They add more meaning to each equipment, so you can't just throw them away and move onto a new one straight away.
And the FMVs for both 8 and 9 are just freaking awesome. I must admit that they both tower over VII graphics wise. And so far I'm loving the storyline for both as well.
Ah, I've never been stuck into gaming this much before.
P.S. Shiva has a point. if you're not interested in FF, don't bother replying.

Junctioning is quite easy after you get the hang of it. I should play FF8.. but I have been getting this urge to play FF7.. << I'm in the Gelnika right now. Just leveling up a bit there, and getting more Materia mastered. You don't know how many I've mastered already.. @_@ I'm in the last area, 3rd disc, but I wanna do things like get Knights of the Round and a bunch of other things before finishing the game.
The only reason FF7 had the graphics the way they were, was because it was originally gonna be for the N64. But since Nintendo was sticking to the cartridges, there wouldn't have been enough space for the whole game. So Square went to the PlayStation because they used CDs, which has more space. And they weren't gonna fix up the graphics that were already made. Ever since then, FF has been on PS systems..
I do have a little tip for FFIX. When you get to Ipsen's Castle on the 3rd disc, equip your weakest weapons. They become your strongest in that place.
But yeah.. FF9 is pretty awesome. Defiently a favorite. I have completed the game 100%. That means also getting Excalibur II in under 12hrs. That was a pain, and not something I wanna do again.

I blame the 'old' Nintendo(especially Yamamuchi) for that mistake.
I have FFVII-FFX on the PS and have beaten all of them(except FFX). They were all fun to play. ^_^

Actually, the N64 was capable of rendering environments. PSone wasn't... I remember that a lot of the environments on PlayStation were ugly and pixelated while many N64 games' environs held up to the test of time, especially Zelda, Starfox, and Mario. The environments in Final Fantasy and Resident Evil were paintings and still pictures, nothing more. Pretty cheap way of getting the title "Great graphics", if you ask me. FFVIII is an awesome game... But I haven't been playing games at all lately. I was trying to play Metal Gear Solid 2 and FFVIII, but... I'm stuck in both games, dunno where to go, and I have a GED I gotta take and a job I gotta work at.

Where are you stuck at in FF8? The only thing I haven't completed on that game is beating Omega Weapon. But mainly because I haven't had the chance to beat him. Other then that, I've beaten the game 100%.

Don't ask... XDDD They're for Pupu.. the alien to show up later on in the game. It's weird.. you'll be battling somewhere, and instead of a battle, you'll see a UFO flying.. I can't remember where the location is, but one of the places it's holding a cow... @_@

I'm the type of person who enjoys games by taking my time, reading everything, discovering every little secret. That's why I love the FF series. hey have such a massive world to explore, with brilliant storylines.

Yeah. But I did the Excalibur II thing to get a perfect file. XD
But other then that.. I do try to take my time. But if I've played the game for the first time.. I tend to.. rush a little. XD
