Is this a Nintendo forum? Um, this isn't even debatable really. Buy a Wii. Metroid, Zelda and Mario (though at this time, that might be questionable) all at launch. One word: historic. What does the 360 have to offer? More of the same bs you've seen the past six years. Do yourself a favor, get a Wii and play with it long time. And Smith, you've got to be crazy if you think the 360 will be cheaper. It's $400 and Microsoft says they won't have a price drop. Anyone that spends $400 on a 360 right now is crazy. CRAZY! Funny that you say that Mario , Zelda, and Metroid releases are historic, and follow that up by saying the Xbox has the same bs I've seen for the past 6 years. Mario, Zelda, and Metroid are the same bs I've seen since I was 4. 3D Mario and 3D Zelda games since the 64 and Metroid Prime was released how long ago? Maybe it's due to the fact that those games almost always intoduce a new style of playing the game. Ocarina of Time was wildly different from the first couple of Zelda games, not to mention Zelda 2 was way different from 1, and they kept introducing different things to hype up the gameplay (Like the hookshot). You can compare each Mario to the next, and each one is different. Metroid Prime was the first 3D Metroid, and Retro Studios pulled it off excellently. Also considering the fact that the Wii controller will reintroduce innovation to each of these innovative series, Wii does not have the same BS we've seen for the past 6 years. Neither do Mario, Zelda, or Metroid. I think what gamefreak was getting at was, the X360 has Madden, and is going to have GTA and Halo. Those game series really don't change, and when they do try to change, they add useless content (Dating in a GTA game. 'Nuff said). That's the BS we've had to put up with for the past six years, and with the Wii on the horizon, it looks like we'll be able to move away from the "me-too" games and play something fresh. The X360 is going to keep supporting the same old thing that the Xbox supported. That's not progress.

3D Zelda, Mario, and Metroid games are just as similar as the new Madden, GTA, and Halo games have been. The only "innovative" feature is the controller.

Well Metroid Prime 3 looks similar to 1 & 2. Zelda might be fun with some slight quirks. Super Mario Galaxy, we have no clue what is going on with that exactly though.
Halo doesn't need to be innovative. It is solid, and it's a storyline part game thing.
Grand Theft Auto, while not innovative, its expansive with each new game.

If I have to choose, I will say the Wii because it has the VC feature for classic retro gaming[From Nintendo systems(from NES to N64) to third-party consoles(Turbo-Grafx 16 & Genesis)]. It's good to remember my gaming roots. ^_^
I will, however, get both systems based on what kinds of good games they have that fit my taste in gaming. And so far, Wii is my first choice and then X360.

We don't need to know your Nintendo credentials, it really doesn't matter. But since you mentioned it, I own a NES, Nintendo 64, GBA SP, GameBoy Player, GCN and Nintendo DS; they all work too, and yes, I play all except the GBP. Don't think I'm missing anything...I used to own a SNES and original GBA (platinum).
What about when they come out with more games for 360? I don't see anything overly impressive, screaming at me to spend $400.
If it was a Sony system, I'd be worried. I've never bought a PlayStation product at launch, other than I admit I bought a PSP at midnight on launch day. That said, Nintendo has the best track record of all of them with hardware and you can return it to get it fixed if there ARE any problems. I heard a guy at Game Crazy tell me that his Xbox 360 broke right out of the box (brand new), he shipped it back and Microsoft sent him a refurbished system that was manufactured months before the won he bought. Customer service? Ha, I think not.
Wait, are you disputing that Mario, Zelda and Metroid aren't historic? I hope not, you'd ruin your credibility entirely. The point I was making that we've never seen all of them launch together (or within the "launch window"). Will they be the "same bs". Absolutely not. If an annual Madden rehash and mindless shooters are your thing, by all means, enjoy your Xbox 360. I'm glad Pilgrim caught my point at least.
I took your advice on that six years ago with a little console called the Dreamcast. Oooops!

What makes the shooters mindless compared to Nintendo games? A plumber who fights turtles and eats mushrooms. Brain stimulating. I want my purchase based on facts, not opinions out of nowhere. Right, Madden, Halo, and GTA are the only things the Xbox has going for it... Oblivion ... Prey... DOA 4... Call of Duty 2.

Oblivion is on PC, Prey is on PC, CoD2 was better on PC and will be outdated by the time CoD3 comes out this fall on PS3 (and other systems). Like I said, spend your $400 on a 360. Enjoy.

So they're not XBOX exclusive. So? I'm not buying a new PC so I can play those games in high detail like the 360. New graphics card=new motherboard=new CPU.

Who's to say they won't end up on PS3 anyway? Condemned is already on its way to PS3 and Vivendi indicated FEAR would as well.

PS3 is overpriced so we ignore it's existence... *ignores the P$3 while it stares at my back*
I can't remember Schisma... are you going to eventually get both systems? Wii60?

PS3 isn't part of my query, no way in hell am I spening 600 dollars on that. @ Gray: Yeah, I'll be getting both, but I don't know if I should hold out until the Wii or get an XBOX ASAP

PS3 is a more powerful system and will have stronger third party exclusives than 360 could dream of. I'd say $100 extra is worth it. BOTH the PS3 and Xbox 360 are over-priced. Thank ya Microsoft for setting a precedent with high prices.
