Action: (A game which puts most of its focus on the action onscreen, gradually increasing intensity for blood-pumping excitement) Examples: Gunstar Heroes (Genesis), Viewtiful Joe (GCN), Contra (NES), Metal Gear Solid (PSone) Adventure: (A game that emphasizes exploration, discovery, and intuitive level designs above all other things) Examples: Super Metroid (SNES), Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Adventure (Atari) Just so no-one confuses Action with Adventure. My favorite picks are RPG, Action, Adventure, Rhythm, and Platformer. My especially favorite games in each said genre are: - Earthbound, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Final Fantasies VI, VIII, X, VII, and I (RPG)
- Viewtiful Joe, Gunstar Heroes, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, River City Ransom, Sonic rush, and Pacman (Action)
- Shadow of the Colossus, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Metroid Zero Mission, and anything Castlevanis (Adventure)
- Guitar Hero II, DDR, Elite Beat Agents (Rhythm)
- Psychonauts, Mario Sunshine, Sly Cooper (Platformer)

Strategy, a lot of other games tend to make me jumpy. But adventure/strategy is a winning combo - see LoZ.

It does, especially the temples in OoT. That's why I'm choosing to use walkthroughs. :3
