The engine they're using for TP feels of lot like OoT and it comes across that way. I want to be able to jump...of course as far as the wii version I want to be able to move the wii mote from left and right to move the camera around. It would've been a lot better.

Yeah, but then how on earth were they supposed to distinguish between a swing for an attack and a motion for camera movement. I didn't have any problems with the camera. the Z button was enough to move the camera around for me.

Yeah, I think if they found a good way to do it the camera control would be cool. That being said, I never actually had any problems with the camera angles the game provided. Jumping however, is something I will never understand the demand for in a Zelda title. Zelda is not a platformer, and I think the inclusion of a jump button would fundamentally change the gameplay into something more like Mario than Zelda.

Or, it could be that he's just talking about a powerup like Zelda IV's Roc Feather.

Well, there are a couple problems with the Roc feather in a 3D game. First of all, in order for it to be any different than the auto-jumps Link preforms, it would have to enable him to jump fairly high. In a game with a TP style it would look totally out of place, and even in the Wind Waker style I think Link jumping 20 feet into the air would look ridiculous. Thats why Nintendo thought of different things that allowed Link to traverse far distances (hover boots and Clawshot/Hookshot come to mind)

If you included a jump button in a Zelda game it would completely ruin it, it would just lose so many cool puzzles and make things like hover-boots render useless. I think NIntendo can;t improve TP, whatever they do.

While I agree with your view of the manual jump situation, Nintendo can definately improve upon Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess is a leap ahead of Ocarina of Time in terms of length, story, and characterization, but it still has room for improvement. Voice acting should be a standard in the next installment for everyone except Link. I wouldn't grade the game down for lack of it, but I think it really would make the world more alive. Similarly, the people in the towns should ALL have something to say and all of the doors should be accessible. One of my biggest dislikes about Twilight Princess is that they made such a huge world with comparably little to do. A big world should mean more mini-games, more secrets, more equipment, and just more of everything. I think Twilight Princess is Nintendo's greatest achievement with the franchise yet, and I still believe it is every other franchise out there in terms of gameplay and level design. A few more tweaks could make the next Zelda as revolutionary as OoT was.

What does everyone want the next Zelda game to look like? How would you like it to play on the Wii? Do you want it to connect to the DS at all?

I was just thinking about that today...there is a thread over on the IGN boards that is saying they would like a cel-shaded game with a darker themed story like TP, but I don't know if I would like that. I really liked Wind Waker's look with Link being a kid and all, the only big problem I had with it was that there was a serious dungeon shortage and the fetch quests were lame--not to mention not being able to travel with any sort of speed until you learn the right song. It also suffered from the TP syndrome of having a whole lot of space with not very much to do.
Anyway--back to your question. I love both the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess styles, though I would probably be lying if I said I didn't prefer TPs. Either way is fine though. Some things I really want though:
Wii functionality: Find a way to have manual camera control--not because I care, but b/c a lot of ppl do Aiming done exactly as it is in Wii Have an option to attack with a button--again, some people prefer it 1:1 sword controls or at least motions scripted to the direction you swing the remote
Specific to Gameplay design: As many dungeons as TP MUCH, MUCH larger amount of sidequests, upgrades, and character stories New items while keeping some of the old, awesome ones More awesome puzzles Voice acting for everyone except Link Ability to use a variety of enemy weapons such as in WW
keep the Zelda feel

LoZ is so much fun to play but the only thing i would change is the characters to have voices.

Yeah, I'd like to see voiceovers in future LoZ games.

I wouldn't, you see imagining the voices is one part of the story telling, it's awesome without and when it does I won't like it.

OK ruben, that is the WORST idea you ever came up with, and yet it is also the BEST idea you came up with.
