*update August 23, 2007*
A "Double" update today. First, a music update which comes from the Animal Crossing World:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music07.html
The second is Yoshi's "Final Smash" and man am I so excited about this one:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/yoshi.html
It's called, "Super Dragon". As you can see here, Yoshi grows wings and breathes fire on it's enemies. Definitely reminds me of Super Mario World for SNES.
*Final update of the week* August 23, 2007
If we recall, we have seen Petey Piranha's appearence in the second video of the Subspace Emissary. Now it's revealed that Petey is one of the boss characters in the mode. But there's a twist: You have to make a choice to either save Princess Zelda or Princess Peach from those cages. Click on the link:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/modea/modea04.html
This is the first time that Princesses need to be saved without Link or Mario.
----------------------
*Daily updaes of the week August 27-31, 2007*
We begin our first update of the with with a new 'normal item' and it comes from the kirby series:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/items/item09.html
When aquired, you can spit out fireballs at your oppnents, unlike the Fire Flower in SSBM. This item is sure is 'hot' to use.
*update* August 28, 2007
Another 'double' update today:
First a 'how to play' update showcasing how to do special moves(which we already know how to do in the first two SSB games:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/basic/basic05.html
And next is another 'assist trophy update' featuring Star Fox's main antagonist and villain
www.smashbros.com/en_us/items/assist/assist06.html
And he looks like his old SNES self, too.
*update* August 29, 2007
Our third dailly update for the week takes us in-depth with the Pokemon Trainer's special attacks with it's three Pokemon:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/pokemon_trainer.html
*update August 30, 2007*
Another 'how to play' update:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/howto/technique/technique05.html
This one's new. This technique is for charcters like Pit, Metaknight, and Charizard(using pokemon Trainer).
*final update for the week* August 31, 2007
Our final update for the week is a 'stage' update:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/stages/stage10.html
Pretty different stage. Very unique and wacky if you played any of the WarioWare games.

Come on, people! Start posting!
The Wario Ware stage looks like it's the best stage yet. Up until the Fire Emblem stage was revealed, I felt that all the SSBBrawl stages were more style than substance. In Melee, the stages threatened you just as much as any of your opponents--but in Brawl, most of the stages so far have stylish features that are apparently just there to be pretty (The passing of time in three different stages, for example).
But WarioWare looks like it's just as hectic and fun as the original WarioWare games, and I can't get excited enough to play on it. Now, Sakurai must answer my question: will we see other WarioWare characters in Brawl? Say Ashley!

I wonder how they'll try to convey a story without using dialogue.

*update* September 4, 2007
Today's update takes us further into Diddy Kong's special moves. Both of which are reconized from Donkey Kong 64:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/diddykong.html
Diddy's special moves makes me want to play DK64 again if I have the time. I haven't even beaten the game, yet, either. ^_^
*update* September 5, 2007
We finally see Kirby's archnemesis make the update:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/metaknight.html
*double update* September 6, 2007
An insight into Mario's special attacks(one of which is from Super Mario Sunshine) and the Pokemon Stadium 2 stage(which we have seen briefly in past updates):
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/mario.html
www.smashbros.com/en_us/stages/stage11.html
*final update for the week* September 7, 2007
Our final update takes us to the 'Music Section'. Plus it's a 'triple' update.
www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music10.html www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music09.html www.smashbros.com/en_us/music/music08.html
Pokemon Stadium 2 stage music, SSBB theme music, and Finally, "My Music" along with a new item, the CD.
*updates of the week* September 10-14, 2007
Today's update is another Pokemon in which this one hogs(or devours) any item that appears in it's way:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/items/mball/mball04.html
*update* September 11, 2007
Another 'assist trophy' update. This one is from Fire Emblem by the name of Lyn(From the GBA game):
www.smashbros.com/en_us/items/assist/assist07.html
Her move is the same one that's in the GBA game(the powerful version of her attack) whenever she attacks.

Yeah, Lyn is great, isn't she. ^_^
*update* September 12, 2007
I'm sure everyone has seen the Haliberd already, so it's no suprise that this latest update is about this stage:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/stages/stage12.html
*update* September 13, 2007
Another "game mode" update:
www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/various04.html
From looking at this update, it looks like 'stamina' from SSBM is back but not as a mode. 'Stamina' is set up as an 'option' in a 'new customization mode' called 'Special Brawl'.
Sakurai showed an example in which you can customize a 'Normal Brawl' however you want along with a 'title' of that customized Brawl depending on your customizations.
Sounds fun.
*final update for the week* September 14, 2007
www.smashbros.com/en_us/characters/iceclimbers.html
It looks like Popo and Nana will make a return. Should be interesting to see what their FS will be like. ^_^

The Good News: Smash Bros. is online The Bad News: Smash Bros. is online
I'm not going to complain too much, since my main focus would be playing against friends anyways. But I still don't understand the point of the random online battles...why even include them? If you can't message them, or see their username, what makes it different than playing against 3 CPU players on high difficulty? I mean, from the perspective of one of the players, the other three players might as well be the CPU.
In fact, factoring in things like lag and the fact that there is no ranking for random online battles, wouldn't playing against the CPU be better?
Maybe I'm just missing something about it, but there doesn't seem to be any point in including them aside from "Look, we put random online battles in the game."

@ *Greg-RN*
Well, isn't SSB about the 'fun factor'(which is probably what the random online battles are about in SSBB) rather than about 'winning and losing' and 'rankings'? Sure, rankings are great for bragging rights for most people, but for myself, I could care less.
Also:
"From sakurai about the Wi-Fi update":
-We’re planning a number of services that make use of Wi-Fi, but we’ll reveal them gradually with the other modes. Enjoy.
This basically means that there are more stuff about SSBB's WFC features that are unknown to us yet(this could probably relate to the "With Everyone" WFC option). So I wouldn't jump to conclusions about SSBB WFC features, yet.
