OH yeah, I remember them talking about this all over the news. It was in the Island Packet and all sorts of papers and stuff. Possible terraforming? Maybe in my life time I would be seeing space-age exploration go to new heights like going over there.

This is good news. So after we screwed up this planet, we could always go to another one and screw that up.

This is good news. So after we screwed up this planet, we could always go to another one and screw that up. Hehehe... but by the time we get there, we'd be screwed up already.

Psshht, this looks hokier than hokey. If this really were news, we would have seen it on nearly every network. Hell, I would have seen this article on WND. But it just sounds off.

Well, whatever. So, what galaxy does it belong to? Ours? Or are there still a few things left to be explained?

it is in our galaxy, but its around 117580000000000 miles away. the milky way is gobsmackingly big, it diameter alone around 100,000 light years. this 'new earth' is merely 20 light years away from earth. if you want to do some calculations be my guest. 1 light year is equal to: 9,460,730,472,580 km 5,879,000,000,000 m according to my science book.
